Celebrate the 4th of July At Walt Disney World With These Can’t Miss Events!

Walt Disney World will be decked out in red, white and blue for the 4th of July, and in keeping with celebrating our nation’s birthday, Disney also has some amazing entertainment in store.

July 4th Festivities at Disney World

Magic Kingdom Park.  Disney showcases one of its most amazing fireworks displays with “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.”  There are shows on July 3rd and July 4th at 9:00 p.m., which means more opportunity for you to see the amazing display above Cinderella Castle and – with its perimeter bursts – around the park.  And as an added bonus, there will be DJ dance parties in Tomorrowland and Frontierland to really get into the spirit!

If you’re wanting to add some humor to your patriotism, be sure to check out The Muppets Present…Great Moments in History in Liberty Square. This reenactment of pivotal moments in American history like the signing of the Declaration of Independence is charming and hilarious, like everything Muppets.

Epcot.  Every time I watch Voices of Liberty, I feel tears threaten to come out of my eyelids.  Every. Single. Time.  It’s just amazing how exquisitely their voices blend under that perfect dome in The American Adventure.  With this upcoming holiday, you get an extra opportunity to experience Voices of Liberty, with special evening concerts (scheduled at 5:30 p.m, 6:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.) at the America Gardens Theater.  Pretty awesome, right?  But wait, there’s more!  You can see Mickey and his crew dressed in their patriotic attire right outside The American Adventure throughout the day.  And of course, don’t miss “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” with its all-American grand finale, the Heartbeat of Freedom!

Star Wars - A Galactic Spectacular - Star Wars at Disney World

Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  There’s a great line-up of nighttime experiences at Hollywood Studios as well.  At 5:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., you can catch “The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters” and then you can follow it up with the brand-new “Disney Movie Magic” movie projections in front of the Chinese Theater.  Then, end your day with one of my personal favorites, the “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. What’s more All-American than a good old-fashioned cookout? The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will be hosting the All-American July 4 cookout from 7 – 8:30pm (on July 4th, naturally). For $120 for adults and $59 for kids 3-11 (which includes gratuity), your family can enjoy hot dogs, steak, shrimp, sides including baked beans, plus beer, wine, and specialty beverages. After dinner, you’ll have a fireworks dessert party on the Grand Floridian Marina, which includes an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom July 4 fireworks. For reservations, call 407-WDW-DINE.

With that I will turn it over to you, our dear readers: what is your personal can’t-miss from Disney’s line-up of July 4th festivities?  Sound off in the comments!
