I would recommend the Rose and Crown which has an outdoor patio where you could dine and watch Illuminations.  Try to make an 8:30pm or later reservation.

To make a character breakfast reservation, you have to call 1-407-WDW-DINE.
 

Can you still eat at the Disney Resort Restaurants even if you are not staying on Disney Property?
Yes, you can eat at any of the Disney Resort Restaurants even if you are not staying at a Disney Resort.  You can make a priority seating by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
 

Where can we dine with the Princesses?
There are three different options for character dining with the princesses.  The first is the new Princess Storybook Breakfast at the Restaurant Akershus at Epcot.  It is a family style breakfast from 8:30am to 10:30am.  The princesses there include Belle, Snow White, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, and a few others.  The second choice is breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table at the Magic Kingdom.  Cinderella is the only princess at this meal.  The third option is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian Resort.  It is a dinner buffet with Cinderella and friends.  You'll probably need a reservation at any of these restaurants so be sure to call 407-WDW-DINE to make a priority seating.
 

Does Buzz Lightyear go to any character breakfast?
Unfortunately, Buzz Lightyear does not attend any of the character breakfast.
 

Where can I make reservations?  
You can make a reservation 120 days prior to when you would like your reservation at Disney Resorts and Epcot Dining.  Call 407-WDW-DINE for your reservation.  Also, any party over 8 requires a credit card reservation.  The other parks also take advanced dining reservations, mostly 60 days prior.  Although, some restaurants such as Rainforest Cafe, which opens into AK, only take reservations 7 days prior (call the number to find out which ones). 
 

My son wants to have breakfast with Winnie the Pooh next week, where can we find him and do we have to make reservations?
Your son can have breakfast with Pooh at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom and the Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge Resort.  I would recommend making a reservation.
