10 – Mickey Whoopie Pie – Sunshine Seasons (Epcot)

Mickey Whoopie Pie - Best Disney World Desserts

Two red velvet cakes sandwiched between buttercream frosting and chocolate chips? I used to have a hard time deciding between the various desserts at Sunshine Seasons, but this one takes the cake (pardon the pun).

9 – Colossal Cinnamon Roll – Gaston’s Tavern (Magic Kingdom)

Colossal Cinnamon Roll - Best Disney World Desserts

Ok, it’s debatable whether a cinnamon roll is a dessert since many people consider it a complete breakfast. Frankly, I don’t care because the cinnamon roll at Gaston’s is so delicious. Sweet, fluffy, and massive, this cinnamon perfection can easily be shared by two people. Don’t let other cinnamon rolls on property fool you: this is the one to get at Disney World.

8 – Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar

The Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar is an iconic Disney World Classic. It’s not as adventurous or inventive as other treats on this list, as it’s just vanilla ice cream in a milk chocolate coating. But it’s in the shape of Mickey Ears! They are also the most convenient dessert on this list, as they are available in numerous ice cream carts in every park. For many, no trip to Disney World is complete without getting at least one Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bar.

7 – Funnel Cake topped with Soft Serve Ice Cream – Oasis Canteen (Hollywood Studios)

Available at the Oasis Canteen near the Indiana Jones Stunt Show, this may be the most decadent dessert on this list. But it’s so worth it. The combination of the warm crunchy funnel cake with the cool creamy soft serve ice cream was an instant hit as soon as I tried this treat.

6 – Strawberry Tart – Boulangerie Patisserie (France – Epcot)

“Well, at least it has fruit in it.” That was my justification for having yet another dessert on my last trip to Disney World. (As you can see from this list, just stepping foot inside Epcot makes it hard to resist some pretty delicious desserts). However, this Strawberry Tart was well worth it. It’s a sweet, delicious, and refreshing dessert.

5 – Dole Whip – Aloha Isle (Magic Kingdom)

Lovers of pineapples and soft serve, unite! Once you’re done organizing your official Pineapple/Soft Serve appreciation club, head over to Adventureland to experience the Dole Whip, one of Disney World’s most iconic treats. This dessert’s unique flavor will delight your taste buds with a smooth and creamy pineapple taste, and its cool temperature will be a great way to beat the heat. Grabbing a Dole Whip and watching The Enchanted Tiki Room is a Disneyland and Disney World tradition. You can also find Dole Whip at Captain Cooke’s in the Polynesian, or at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom.

4 – Croissant Donut – Refreshment Port (Epcot)

Disney has tapped into the Cronut craze, but the best part is that you don’t have to wait four hours in line to get one. A buttery croissant, shaped and fried like a donut, and covered in cinnamon sugar. What’s not to love?

3 – Red Velvet Cupcake – Starring Rolls Cafe (Hollywood Studios)

I’ve always been a huge fan of red velvet cupcakes, and this one ranks up among the top cupcakes I’ve ever had anywhere. The icing is pretty much perfect. If you’re in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, go to Starring Rolls and pick up one of these bad boys

2 – Macaroon Ice Cream Sandwich (France – Epcot)

I’m slightly obsessed with this Macaroon Ice Cream Sandwich. Part of it could be my affection for chocolate – it’s the only flavor available. Part of it could be my newfound love for macaroons. Pretty much – this is the perfect treat for a hot day in Epcot. The chewy macaroon combined with the rich creamy ice cream is a perfect pairing. Enjoy the idyllic views of Epcot’s France pavilion as you enjoy this amazing little treat.

1 – Caramel and Dark Chocolate – Karamell Kuche (Germany – Epcot)

On a recent trip to Disney World, my family decided to try a “Dessert Tour” of the World Showcase. This chocolate caramel from Germany’s Karamell-Kuche (German for Caramel Kitchen) was the winner for Best Dessert of the evening. This candy features rich and delicious dark chocolate, but the star of the show is obviously the caramel. It hits the perfect balance of chewy and creamy. While $4 might seem a bit steep for a single piece of candy, this caramel is rich enough to be satisfying, and amazingly scrumptious enough to be the best dessert in Walt Disney World.
