How could you possibly improve upon a Disney World vacation? Placing it on a gorgeous Hawaiian beach is a pretty good start. Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa on Oahu, HI is a unique Disney experience. Aimed at providing an experience that honors Hawaiian culture, Aulani is one of the most gorgeous and intricately detailed resorts Disney has ever designed. Despite there being no theme park attached, there is plenty for the entire family to enjoy, from the beaches to pools and waterslides to dining and interactive activities.

Located just a short drive from Honolulu airport, Aulani Resort & Spa is a beachfront paradise spanning 21 acres. Aulani features 351 hotel rooms and 481 Disney Vacation Club villas in its two towers that overlook Waikolohe Valley, a lush oasis featuring pools, spas, and waterways.
These grounds include Waikolohe Stream (a huge lazy river), Menehune Bridge (a children’s water play area), and three pools. Aulani also features Rainbow Reef, the only private snorkeling lagoon on Oahu.
Aulani also features a bevy of activities for the whole family, like the Menehune Adventure Trail, a high-tech scavenger hunt through the grounds of Aulani. There are also hands-on science experiments and character meet and greets for kids, the Island Beach Challenge or sand sculpting for teens, and guided Māka‘ika‘i (to make a tour) of the Hawaiian art, nature and wildlife for adults. Aulani also features the Laniwai Spa, which offers over 150 treatments. The spa also features the Kula Wai Hydrotherapy Garden, which is Oahu’s sole outdoor hydrotherapy garden.
What about food? Aulani features two restaurants. ‘AMA‘AMA is a contemporary, upscale, full service restaurant, which is comparable to some of Disney’s other signature restaurants like California Grill or Napa Rose. There is also the buffet-style Makahiki restaurant. Aulani also has The ‘Ōlelo Room, which is a bar/lounge, and Ulu Cafe, which is a poolside venue with for more casual dining.
