Frozen, Disney’s mega-hit in the movie theaters, has proven to also be a mega-hit in the parks. Anna, Elsa, and Olaf are featured prominently in the new Festival of Fantasy parade at Magic Kingdom, Let It Go is one of the highlights of the “Celebrate the Magic” projection show on Cinderella Castle, and Frozen shirts and plush line many of the gift shops at WDW. The now sold out set of Frozen Vinylmations are selling up to six times their retail value on eBay. (Sure, I’d love to add Anna and Elsa to my collection, but not for $150). Frozen is deservedly a cultural phenomenon, and fans are connecting with the film and the characters again at Walt Disney World.

Up until yesterday, Disney World guests would meet Anna and Elsa at Epcot’s Norway pavilion. This made sense, of course, as Frozen is set in Norway. However, like the other Disney Princesses, Anna and Elsa have now found a new home at Magic Kingdom.

So where in the Magic Kingdom can you meet Anna and Elsa? Fantasyland, of course, at the Princess Fairytale Hall.

Thankfully, you can now make a Fastpass+ reservation in advance to meet Anna and Elsa. Yesterday was the first day that Anna and Elsa were at Princess Fairytale Hall, and lines were up to four hours long! Granted, this was their Magic Kingdom debut, and it was Easter Sunday, so lines were bound to be a little inflated, but 4 hours is an extremely long wait for a meet and greet. You could watch Frozen two times during that wait.

Our tip for meeting Anna and Elsa at Disney World is to definitely snag Fastpass+ reservations as soon as you can. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can make reservations 60 days in advance. Otherwise, you can make a reservation 30 days in advance by linking your ticket to your MyDisneyExperience account.

I’ve seen some comments online criticizing Disney’s decision to move the Frozen duo from Epcot to Magic Kingdom. While Epcot’s Norway made thematic sense for the location of the character meet and greet, it’s completely logical that Disney would move Anna and Elsa to Magic Kingdom due to Frozen’s extreme popularity. Magic Kingdom is the most visited theme park in the world. While there are plenty of meet and greets scattered throughout all the parks, Magic Kingdom is the one most closely associated with meeting your favorite characters to the general public.

It also makes sense to keep Anna and Elsa in one location, for now. While you can meet Snow White in both Magic Kingdom and Epcot, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released over 75 years ago. That is a time-tested character. I would bet good money (Anna and Elsa Vinylmation money) that Frozen will stand the test of time as well, but I applaud Disney for being careful with the roll-out of its two newest stars.
