With their grand reopening set for April 30, 2021, Disneyland just announced a lot of must-know information if you’ve been anxiously awaiting the return of the Happiest Place on Earth. With Disneyland tickets set to go on sale on April 15, one major question was if Disneyland would allow park hopping between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. After all, when Walt Disney World reopened last year, it did so without park hopping, and a modified park hopping system was introduced months later.

Good news for Disneyland fans: park hopping will be available once the parks reopen this month. However, like Disney World, Disneyland’s park hopping system will not be as simple as it was before the pandemic.

Here’s how Disneyland’s park hopping will work once the parks reopen April 30:

In order to park hop, guests will need both a park hopper ticket and a theme park reservation. You must go to the park you made your reservation for first. Starting at 1 pm, guests with park hopper tickets will be allowed to go to the second park. You do not need a reservation for the second park. In other words, if you have a reservation for Disneyland Park and a park hopper ticket, you can enter Disneyland at 9 am when it opens, then you can go into California Adventure starting at 1 pm.

Park hopping will be available as long as there is capacity in each park. These rules are subject to change, and Disney mentioned that the time that park hopping starts is expected to move earlier in the day.

The Disneyland Park Reservation system will open up on April 12. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will need reservations for each day of your visit.

You can find out more about Disneyland’s new ticket system here, and stay tuned for more updates on Disneyland’s reopening.
