Things are about to get spooky (but not so scary) at Magic Kingdom. Starting this Friday, September 2, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off the fall season at Disney World for 29 nights until Halloween. More details about the shows, entertainment, and trick or treating at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party have emerged today. If you’re planning on going to this Halloween bash, these are definitely details you’ll want to know.
Even though it requires additional admission, this hard ticketed event is a crowd pleaser. If you’ve never been, I definitely recommend going to the party, as it’s a completely unique way to enjoy the Magic Kingdom featuring some of the best entertainment Disney Parks produces. I’ve updated our Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Guide with all the new information for 2016’s parties, but here are the highlights for the changes.
A little less Hocus Pocus
The Sanderson Sisters are back, but their workload this year is a little less taxing. The popular Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will now perform 3 times nightly at 9:15, 10:40, and midnight, meaning that there is no 8 pm show like last year. Taking place in front of Cinderella Castle, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stars the Sanderson Sisters of the motion picture Hocus Pocus and features a cavalcade of Disney Villains. It’s a show that features comedy, singing, dancing, and special effects. Definitely check it out, even if you have to stay a bit later to enjoy the show.
New Parade and Fireworks Times
Arguably the two biggest draws of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party have new times. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade (one of our favorite Disney parades) will run twice nightly at 8:30 and 11:15. The Happy HalloWishes fireworks will illuminate the skies at 10:15 on party nights.
New Zootopia Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Card
The tradition of a special Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party continues. You can get your Zootopia card featuring Clawhauser at the Firehouse on Main Street.
New Allergy Friendly Stations and Trick or Treat Bags
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party now caters to those with food allergies by adding two new Allergy-Friendly Treat Stations at Town Square Theater in Main Street and Heritage House in Liberty Square. If you have a food allergy, talk to a cast member and they will give you a special teal bag. At non-allergy center treat spots, you’ll receive a teal token at each station that you can redeem for treats at the Allergy Centers in Main Street and Liberty Square. You can also just head to those centers to get your special treats.
New Food and Merchandise
As with every special event at Disney World, you’ll have the opportunity to commemorate your experience with special merchandise, such as pins, t-shirts, and Magic Bands. Certain locations will also offer themed treats, such as the Pumpkin Spiced Cupcake at Gaston’s Tavern. Check out our event guide for more details on where you can get these items.
