There’s been an awakening in Hollywood Studios’ entertainment budget. Have you felt it? The presence of Star Wars has been growing at the park ever since the announcement of Star Wars Land back at D23 and the premiere of The Force Awakens. Coming this April, it will be pretty much impossible to avoid the galaxy far, far away if you visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the Star Wars entertainment is being expanded in a big way.

Are you ready to have “Dun-dun-dun dun dun-dun dun dun-dun” stuck in your head? Starting on April 4, guests will get a chance to join the ranks of everyone’s favorite nameless faceless baddies and their shiny leader, as Captain Phasma will lead a platoon of First Order Stormtroopers on a march from Star Wars Launch Bay to Center Stage in front of the Great Movie Ride. Guests can join in the Imperial march several times a day.

Speaking of Center Stage, that will be where you can check out “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away,” a brand new stage show featuring characters such as Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Darth Maul, and Chewbacca. This show promises to recreate iconic moments from the seven films. This show will also play multiple times a day.

Are you ready to witness the power of Hollywood Studios’ fully armed and operational Star Wars entertainment plans? Good… good. Because this summer, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” will debut. The nighttime spectacular takes the current Star Wars fireworks show and then takes the jump to hyperspace. Not only will the show feature fireworks, pyrotechnics, and John Williams’ iconic score: This new show will incorporate video projections and special effects to transform the Chinese Theater and nearby buildings into some of the most indelible visuals from Star Wars, including the Death Star trench, the twin suns of Tatooine, and Starkiller Base. The show will also incorporate a tower of fire and a spotlight, “creating massive lightsabers in the sky.” By the way, “creating massive lightsabers in the sky” might be the most awesome sequence of words I’ve ever read about Disney World.

Having seen what these types of projections can do to elevate a fireworks show at Disneyland recently, I feel like this promises to be an amazing spectacular for everyone, especially Star Wars fans. What about you, what do you think? Are you excited for more Star Wars offerings at Disney World, or do you think this is over-saturation of Skywalker and friends? Let me know in the comments below!
