Review: Atmosphere and service were both wonderful. My husband had
the charred steak and it was out-of-this-world! My
children and I kept asking for bites. Included
on our dining plan except the wine...$22 for 2 glasses (ouch!)
We would definitely dine here again!

Review: My sister and brother-in-law brought me and my 2 kids to
this restaurant (we had a Fantasmic show included) and the food is very
good, and the service was great, the server was very nice with my kids,
we had a ball there. There's a lot of food included with the Fantasmic
show and diner. Have a very light lunch if you go to Mama Melrose for
the show and diner...

Review: If you purchase the Fantasmic package deal - do not select
Mama Melrose as the restaurant.
Excellent food but the service was so poor that even
with a 4pm dinner, we missed the priority sitting for Fantasmic.
After some sorrowful pleading, a cast member
found room to squeeze us in on the front row.
Fantasmic was the best show that we saw in all the parks but it really
wasn't worth rushing down a huge dinner, running clear across the
park stopping once to clean up my daughter's throw up - too much jiggling
from the running) and then having to beg for a seat. Select the Brown Derby
which is close to the priority entrance.

Review: My daughter and I visited Disney World on 5/16/01 for five
days. On our third day we went to MGM for the Star Wars Weekend. We were greeted
with hot weather and large crowds. We tried getting into the Sci-Fi Restaurant
and a few others but found ourselves at mid-afternoon still hungry, hot and
tired. We looked for the Mama Melrose Restaurant for quite a while. There is
some construction and the area it is in a hard to find spot (but well worth
looking for). Once we located it we were happy to find that it was a quiet oasis
from the heat and crowds outside. Our waitress was very accommodating--offering
to change any dish on the menu to suit our tastes. My daughter is a vegetarian
and also likes to watch her fat intake. We ordered the wood-fired pizzas. They
came topped with wonderfully fresh vegetables, just the right amount of cheese
and a nice tomato sauce that wasn't on the menu description for my pizza but was
added at my request (no extra charge). We had some fine bread while we waited
for our meal. Soon the drinks came -- very large glasses (and refillable, too).
We were happy just to sit in the softly lit room (a relief from the blazing
Florida sun) and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. At the end of our meal we
had just enough room to share a tiramisu for dessert. Our waitress was ,again,
very accommodating. She went to the kitchen and got us the largest single slice
of tiramisu I have ever had at a restaurant. She left it to us to divide it onto
the 2 plates she brought with her. It was the perfect end to a great meal.
My daughter is still talking about how good that dessert was --and we have been
back from our vacation for several weeks!
P.S. We liked our meal so much that we returned again before we left. This time
I had the special of the day which was grilled tuna on a bed of pasta salad. It
was excellent. My daughter repeated the pizza because she enjoyed it so much the
first time. You can't go wrong at this place. The service is great, the prices
are moderate for a Disney restaurant and everything we had was delicious.
