There’s been an announcement. Have you felt it?
The dates for Star Wars Weekends 2015 have been revealed. The all-things-Star Wars celebration at Hollywood Studios will run every weekend from May 15 through June 14, 2015.
- Weekend I: May 15-17, 2015
- Weekend II: May 22-24, 2015
- Weekend III: May 29-31, 2015
- Weekend IV: June 5-7, 2015
- Weekend V: June 12-14, 2015
Next year’s Star Wars Weekends will notably be the last major Star Wars fan event before Episode VII debuts in theaters December 2015. Speaking of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, this is as good of an excuse as any to rewatch that amazing teaser again:
We still don’t know what the lineup will be for Star Wars Weekends next year, so the following is pure speculation. With the Star Wars Celebration expo taking place in April and another trailer very likely premiering with Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, odds are good that there will be some sort of footage shown from The Force Awakens. Maybe a Guardians of the Galaxy/Big Hero 6 type preview, or just something that shows already seen footage. With Mark Hamill making his debut at Star Wars Weekends last year, maybe the path has been laid for some other majors stars from the new movie to make an appearance. I would also expect Star Wars Rebels to be well represented at next year’s festivities.
If you got as giddy as I did seeing the Falcon flying on screen again, next year might be a great time to visit Disney World for Star Wars Weekends.
