Starting on Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, Epcot will take a big symbolic step towards its years-long transformation. As announced at D23 2019, the areas of Epcot will be receiving a names. While World Showcase will remain the same, Future World will be broken up into three sections: World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery. Each section of the park will be known as a “neighborhood,” similar to how each section of Magic Kingdom is known as a land.

According to Disney:

Beginning Oct. 1, 2021, EPCOT will be unified with four neighborhoods that each speak to important aspects of the world and its people: World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature and World Discovery. These neighborhoods are filled with new experiences rooted in authenticity and innovation that take guests to new destinations, where the real is made fantastic in a celebration of curiosity, discovery and the magic of possibility.

Here’s how everything will be divided once Future World undergoes its name change.

Epcot - Four Neighborhoods Map

World Celebration

This encompasses the entrance of the park and the center section of Future World. World Celebration includes Spaceship Earth, Creations Shop, Club Cool, the Imagination Pavilion, and the bridge to World Showcase. Future additions will include a festival area/pavilion behind Spaceship Earth, a statue of Walt Disney called Dreamer’s Point, and enchanted gardens. According to Disney, “World Celebration offers new experiences that connect guests to one another and the world around them.”

World Discovery

This is the section to the left of Spaceship Earth after you enter the park. This section includes Test Track, Mission: SPACE, and Space 220. Future additions will include the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind roller coaster and the Play Pavilion. According to Disney, “in World Discovery, stories about science, technology and intergalactic adventure come to life.”

World Nature

“World Nature is dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty, awe and balance of the natural world.” World Nature is the part of the park that is to the right of Spaceship Earth after you enter the park. This section includes The Seas with Nemo and Friends and The Land Pavilion. The Journey of Water, Featuring Moana is currently under construction in this section. According to Disney, “Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will be the first Disney Parks experience evoking the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios film. This lush exploration trail will invite guests to meet and play with magical, living water. Just like Moana’s friend the ocean, water will have a personality of its own, helping guests learn how to protect the natural water cycle in a fun and engaging way.”
