I’m not afraid to admit it: I love Amazon Prime. I’ve been a longtime subscriber, and I’ve never regretted the purchase. Sure, there are perks like the Instant Video library or streaming music, but the main draw is the free two day shipping. Being able to purchase an item and have it show up at your doorstep in two days is truly a modern luxury. You might argue that patience is a virtue, but I really needed that Saved By The Bell DVD set as soon as humanly possible. Trust me.

Guide2WDW reader Cheri O. recently wrote in with a tip on how Amazon and Amazon Prime has helped with her Disney World vacation. She shared that instead of spending money on the pricey water bottles inside the park, she will order a case or two of water bottles from Amazon and have it shipped to her hotel. Instead of paying up to $20 per day for water bottles inside the park for her family of four, Cheri is able to get a week’s worth of water bottles for much cheaper from Amazon.

Using Amazon to ship supplies to your hotel room also makes a lot of sense if you are flying or driving down in a small car. When packing space is precious, Amazon can be your best friend. Here’s a list of some items that would be better shipped from Amazon than stuffed in your suitcase. These items are either bulky or difficult to fly with.

Amazon Prime is also great if you realize you forgot to pack something or need to restock in the middle of the week.

  • SD Cards
  • Phone Charger
  • Extra Phone Battery
  • Medicine like Tylenol or Pepto Bismol
  • Bathing Suit
  • A Halloween Costume (if you decide to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Party when you’re already at Orlando)
  • A Frogg Togg (These are a life saver in case the weather is hotter than you expected).

You could even purchase select Disney souvenirs and books from Amazon. The list goes on and on. If you’re already an Amazon Prime subscriber, it’s good to remember that this is an option for your Disney World vacation. If you’re not a subscriber, you can get a free 30 day trial by clicking the graphic below. Time it to your Disney World trip and see how it works out. Amazon Prime is currently $99 a year.

Walt Disney World resorts will deliver packages to your room free of charge, but some off property hotels do not (including Swan and Dolphin). Be sure to check with your hotel to see if this would work for your stay.

Vacation Tip: Use Amazon to ship bulky items like water bottles or snacks to your hotel room.
