The Voyage of the Little Mermaid offers an abridged performance of the classic Disney animated film from which it gets its name. The live show includes actors and puppets and features some of the classic songs from the movie, including a rendition of “Under the Sea” which starts the show. The show comes alive with scenes from the film and the illusion that the audience is underwater. When choosing a seat, keep in mind that some of the puppeteers wear black clothing, so if you sit too close to the stage it takes away from the illusion.
As Disney World visitor Scott puts it: “The effects are great, everyone in the family will love it. Yes, even you dad. We love going straight from the Beauty and Beast show to Ariel’s.”
Tips and Trivia
- For the best visual effect, sit somewhere in the middle rows.
- The Voyage of the Little Mermaid is air conditioned, making it a useful escape from the Orlando heat.
