A Good Attraction, But Don't Wait Too Long
With only one hill and a short ride length, the Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini is a fantastic first roller coaster for kids. Other coasters at the Magic Kingdom like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Big Thunder Mountain might be a bit too intimidating for a small child who has never been on a roller coaster before. As Magic Kingdom’s only junior roller coaster with a heigh restriction of only 35 inches, the Barnstormer is ideal for a kid to dip their toe in the world of thrill rides. With plane-shaped roller coaster cars, a track that goes through a billboard, and a fun queue featuring the Great Goofini’s treasured props, the Barnstormer is a very solid ride for kids.
Tips and Trivia
- This ride is only one minute long. While that can be a plus for nervous little ones going on a roller coaster, it makes this ride not worth a very long wait. Either use Fastpass or wait until there are short lines for this ride.
- The Barnstormer sits on the site of former attraction Grandma Duck’s Petting Farm. This petting zoo was part of Mickey’s Birthdayland, and existed from 1988-1996.
- The top speed of the Barnstormer is 25 mph.
