What about this?
The Dole Whip and the Citrus Swirl. Two iconic Disney World treats. Earlier this year, I compared the two in a no-holds-barred cagematch for Adventureland frozen treat dominance. Little did I know that a few weeks later the landscape of Adventureland would shift, as Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace have swapped locations. Aloha Isle, known for the Dole Whip, is now located next to the Enchanted Tiki Room, and Sunshine Tree Terrace, known for the Orange Bird and Citrus Swirl, is located across from the entrance of Swiss Family Treehouse.
I’m not going to lie, this change was a bit of a surprise to me. Both Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace are must visits for me when I go to Magic Kingdom, so the change will definitely mess with my Adventureland equilibrium. However, as much as I hate to see Orange Bird evicted and relocated, the change makes sense. Sunshine Tree Terrace’s old location next to the Tiki Room has much more covered space and is a bit more tucked away from the main flow of foot traffic than Aloha Isle’s old location. Aloha Isle always had longer lines that Sunshine Tree Terrace, so this move makes sense in terms of guest flow. It also feels appropriate that the Dole Whip is now being served right next to the Enchanted Tiki Room, which is similar to the setup for Disneyland’s Dole Whip stand.
What do you think of the new locations for these Adventureland treats?
