I’ll be honest: I was nervous about the Collection Quest.
Disney’s description of the Lorcana Collection Quest at the 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Arts was vague enough to make me wonder what I was getting into. Open booster packs and trade cards with other guests? I’m a complete Lorcana newbie. I didn’t know what made a fair trade, and the prospect of approaching strangers with binders full of cards felt intimidating. When I showed up on opening day and saw people with massive stacks of cards and official-looking trade binders, I almost chickened out and stuck to the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt.
But I didn’t. And I’m glad, because the Collection Quest turned out to be one of my favorite new Festival of the Arts activities. The Lorcana community is incredibly welcoming, Disney designed the mechanics to encourage cooperation rather than competition, and within about an hour I had my exclusive Donald Duck card in hand.
Here’s exactly how to do it yourself.

What Is the Lorcana Collection Quest?

The Collection Quest is a free trading card activity exclusive to the 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. You’ll pick up a Festival Questbook containing a complimentary Lorcana booster pack, then trade cards with other guests to collect a specific set of four cards. Complete your set, and you’ll receive an exclusive Donald Duck – Pie Slinger Magical Places promo card that’s only available through this activity.
The booster pack alone is worth about $6 at retail (it’s from the Archazia’s Island set), so you’re getting real value just for showing up. And if you’ve been curious about Lorcana but haven’t taken the plunge, this is a low-pressure way to get started with 12 free cards and some guidance on how the game works.
How to Get Your Festival Questbook

Your first stop is the Quest Distribution station on the bridge between World Celebration and World Showcase. Look for the large display featuring Lorcana artwork on the lefthand side of the bridge as you head toward World Showcase.
The station opens at 9:00 AM daily, and this is important: there’s a daily allotment that has been running out. On opening day, supplies lasted through the afternoon, but as word spreads about this activity, I’d recommend getting your Questbook as early as possible. If you’re planning a late arrival to EPCOT, the Questbook might not be available.
Inside your Questbook you’ll find:
- One Archazia’s Island booster pack (12 cards)
- Your Collection Quest page showing the four specific cards you need
- A sticker sheet and map for the separate Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt
- A collecting guide explaining card rarities
- Information about other Lorcana activities at the festival
Understanding the Collection Quest Mechanics

Here’s the part that surprised me: not everyone is hunting for the same four cards.
I had assumed this would be competitive, with hundreds of guests all scrambling for the same rare cards. But Disney designed 25 different Collection Quests, each requiring a different set of four cards. My quest required Robin Hood, Kakamora, Penny, and Thunderbolt. The person next to me was looking for Marie. Someone else needed Moana.
This means you’re not competing against other guests. You’re cooperating. Everyone wants to complete their set, and the cards you don’t need might be exactly what someone else is looking for. When I pulled a Moana from my booster pack and didn’t need it, I knew someone nearby would be thrilled to trade for it.
Your booster pack probably won’t contain all four of your required cards. That’s by design. Mine had one of the four I needed. The quest only works if people trade.
Where to Trade Cards

There are three main spots where trading happens:
Illumineer’s Lounge (Morocco Pavilion): This is the primary Lorcana hub for the festival, set up in the space that was formerly Restaurant Marrakesh. It’s decorated with Lorcana character banners and has dedicated trading areas. Most importantly, there’s a Cast Member trading board here. If you’re nervous about approaching strangers (like I was initially), you can trade with a Cast Member instead. Just pick a card from the board and replace it with one of your own cards. The cast member was incredibly helpful in explaining how everything worked, and this led to my first trade with another guest who was new to Lorcana and wanted to learn the ropes.
Figment’s Inspiration Station (The Odyssey): This is the other official Lorcana hub and where you can also redeem your completed quest. The vibe here is a bit less crowded than Morocco, and I saw plenty of trading happening by the back walls.

Near the Giant Lorcana Cards: Throughout EPCOT, you’ll find oversized Lorcana card displays for the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt. These spots have become informal trading areas since almost everyone doing the Scavenger Hunt is also doing the Collection Quest.
Tips for Trading (Especially If You’re New)

If trading cards with strangers sounds stressful, I get it. Here’s what made it easier for me:
Trade by rarity for fairness. Every Lorcana card has a rarity symbol at the bottom. The Questbook includes a handy guide showing what each symbol means. Most people have been happy trading commons for commons or rares for rares. Nobody’s trying to hustle you for valuable cards. We all just want to complete our sets.
Use the Cast Member trading board. This takes the social pressure off completely. You look at the board, find a card you need, and swap it for one you don’t need. No negotiation required. The Cast Member at the Illumineer’s Lounge explained the rarity system to me and gave me confidence for my next trades.
Don’t be intimidated by serious collectors. Yes, there are Lorcana veterans with massive binders at this event. But every single person I interacted with was friendly and patient with a newbie like me. The community genuinely wants new players to have a good experience.
Just ask. I completed my Collection Quest in about five trades, and every single one started with me walking up to someone and saying “Are you doing the Collection Quest? I’m looking for Robin Hood.” or “Are you looking for any specific cards?” That’s it. People were eager to help.
Redeeming Your Completed Quest
Once you have all four of your required cards, head to either the Illumineer’s Lounge in Morocco or Figment’s Inspiration Station at the Odyssey. Show your four cards to a cast member, and they’ll punch a hole in your Questbook to mark it complete and hand you the Donald Duck – Pie Slinger Magical Places promo card.
Pro tip: The Odyssey had a much shorter line when I went. I waited about 5 minutes there versus the 20+ minute wait I experienced at the Illumineer’s Lounge. If you’re also completing the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt (which earns you a Rapunzel promo card), do both activities first and redeem them at the same location to save yourself a second trip.
Is the Collection Quest Worth Your Time?
Absolutely, and I say this as someone who had zero experience with Lorcana before this festival.
The free booster pack alone is a $6 value. The Donald Duck card is genuinely exclusive to this event and has a very fun design. And the experience itself was surprisingly fun. There’s something satisfying about the hunt, and genuinely thrilling when you finally find that last card you need (I might have gotten a bit too giddy when someone had the Kakamora I was hunting for).
If you’re already a Lorcana fan, this is a no-brainer. If you’re Lorcana-curious, this is the perfect low-stakes introduction. You’ll learn about card rarities, meet other players, and walk away with a small collection to get you started.
For me, it scratched an itch I’ve been missing for a few years at Disney World. The Collection Quest reminded me of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, the interactive card game that ran at Magic Kingdom from 2012 until it closed in 2021. I loved that experience, especially trying to get a complete set of cards. The Collection Quest isn’t identical, but it captures some of that same magic of collecting cards, interacting with the park in a different way, and being part of a community activity. I’d love to see Disney do more Lorcana integration in the parks (and maybe a spiritual sequel to SotMK that uses Lorcana cards… okay, that might be asking a lot, but a man can dream).
Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy Lorcana cards to complete the Collection Quest?
No. The free Festival Questbook includes a complimentary Archazia’s Island booster pack with 12 cards. Between your pack and trading with other guests, you should be able to complete your quest without purchasing anything. Additional booster packs are available for purchase at Disney Traders in Showcase Plaza if you want more cards, but it’s not required.
How long does the Collection Quest take?
Plan for 30-60 minutes depending on how quickly you find trading partners. I completed mine in about an hour, but I also did trades while I was completing the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt and sampling the food booths. It’s a fun activity you can do as you explore EPCOT, not something you need to spend dedicated focused time on.
What if I can’t find someone to trade with?
Head to the cast member trading board at the Illumineer’s Lounge. You can trade directly with a Cast Member there, and most likely find other guests who are also trying to find trades.
Can I complete the Collection Quest multiple times?
Each guest can pick up one Questbook per day. Your Questbook gets punched when you redeem your prize, preventing the same book from being used twice. If you visit EPCOT on multiple days during the Festival of the Arts, you can get a new Questbook each day.
How long is the Festival of the Arts running?
The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs for 39 days, from January 16 through February 23, 2026.
