Disney World’s spookiest event is returning for more nights than ever this year. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be held for 29 nights this year in September and October. This Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom is a hard-ticketed event, meaning that guests must buy a special ticket for the event. Starting at 7 pm and running until midnight, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is an evening of family friendly Halloween fun, with trick or treating, character meet and greets, and special entertainment. Returning this year are the extremely popular Boo-To-You parade, the HalloWishes fireworks, and the Hocus Pocus Villains Spectacular. It’s a really fun event that we believe every Disney World fan should experience at least once.

The dates for 2016 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom park are as follows:

  • September – 2, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 29, 30
  • October – 2, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28, 30, 31

One thing to note is that Disney is getting a bit stricter with their costume guidelines for guests over 14 years old due to safety concerns. Guests 14 and older can still come in costume, but they are “strongly discouraged from wearing layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body as they may be subject to additional security screening.” It’s a little vague as to what a “layered costume” would entail, but speaking from experience, it’s best to dress lightly anyway, as those humid Orlando nights can be brutal when you’re dressed up in a heavy costume. Also, props may not resemble anything that can be mistaken for a weapon. So if you’re dressing up like Star Lord, bring the Walkman, but leave the blaster at home.

Tickets prices for this year’s Halloween party have not been announced, and they are not yet on sale. No details have been released as to what new experiences will be coming to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but check back into Guide2WDW for more updates throughout the year.
