Hopefully, it will not be as CROWDED as it was in the past. My wife and I did a MVMCP in 2019, combined with a full day earlier in the park. When I bought the tickets online for the party I asked about FastPass (remember, 2019). The cast member at Guest Services told me they were not available for the party and were not needed, as the crowds were like night and day difference compared to regular park hours.
On the night we were there, we quickly discovered that it was just the opposite. Crowds were tolerable during the day but it seemed like there was at least twice as many people there that evening and it was raining off and on. I cannot imagine what it would have been like if the weather had been better. The parades were canceled and we had to stand in long lines in the rain and had an overall miserable time. We left with about an hour to go before they closed the park. Although we will likely go back to WDW someday we will never attend another MVMCP.
On a positive note, the lights decorating the castle were beautiful and the Space Mountain ride was a nice experience, with the holiday lighting along the track and holiday music playing.
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your comment! Sorry to hear you had such a disappointing time at MVMCP. Crowds can definitely be heavy at the parties, and I’ve personally found that there can be very long lines, especially for rare character meet and greets. I bet with the rain they had less characters out, and without the parades to draw away crowds, the only thing to do would be to go on rides, making for very long lines.
Whenever Disney World offers After Hours parties, those typically have much lighter crowds than a Halloween or Christmas party. That could change in the future if Disney wants to sell more tickets to those events, but I’d recommend seeking an After Hours party out if they return. We found the lines to be much shorter at those compared to MNSSHP or MVMCP.
