Walt Disney World is adding a fun new twist to the pin trading experience. In case you don’t know, you can trade pins with any cast member who has them. Guests can trade up to two pins with each cast member. There are also pin boards located at the register at many retail locations, and the same pin trading rules apply. Pin trading is a really fun activity for adults and kids to do together. Both my mom and my nephew love pin trading, and it’s a special activity that makes each Disney World trip even that more fun for both of them.
Disney Parks Blog has shared a look at a new way to pin trade. In addition to regular pin trading, certain locations will have a board with Mystery Trading Boxes, which brings the excitement of a blind box collectible to pin trading. Here’s how they work, according to Disney.
“Mystery trading boxes: Select a drawer from the pin box numbered 1-24. The cast member will open the drawer and present you with your mystery pin in exchange for your Disney pin.”
Mystery trading boxes are not replacing traditional pin trading, as certain locations will also have new Mickey shaped pin trading boards. These boards work like any other pin trading: pick up to two pins that you would like to trade for, and then exchange them with your own Official Disney Pins.
Disney is also making it easier to find these pin boards, as their locations will be added to guide maps.
“New pin boxes and boards can be found in locations across Walt Disney World Resort. To make pin trading even more convenient, these locations are designated in guide maps and include all four theme parks, Disney Springs and select resort locations.”
