The Beak and Barrel: Magic Kingdom’s Pirates Bar Opens August 29
Magic Kingdom is finally getting a standalone bar: The Beak and Barrel – a swashbuckling pirate pub that promises to be the most immersive Disney drinking experience this side of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Opening August 29, 2025, this all-ages establishment will offer storytelling, storytelling, small bites, and tropical sips (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
But before you can properly toast your adventures with a skull mug of Plunderer’s Punch, here are the five essential things every aspiring buccaneer needs to know.
1. Location: Right Next to Pirates of the Caribbean (Obviously)
The Beak and Barrel couldn’t have a more perfect location – it’s positioned directly adjacent to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Adventureland. This lively pirate pub is filled with flavor and fun, immersing guests in an adventure with nods to both the classic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and beloved films.
The proximity means you can literally stumble from the ride straight into the themed experience (or vice versa), making it feel like a natural extension of your pirate adventure.
2. Family-Friendly Fun (Unlike EPCOT’s Newest Bar)
Here’s a question I’ve gotten a lot recently: Is The Beak and Barrel adults only?
This is an understandable question, as this summer saw the opening of GEO-82 in EPCOT, which caters exclusively to the 21+ crowd.
However, The Beak and Barrel welcomes pirates of all ages – just like Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge.
3. Time Limits and Drink Maximums (The Oga’s Model)
Speaking of Oga’s Cantina, The Beak and Barrel adopts the same operational model: 45 minutes maximum with a 2-drink limit per guest. During your allocated time in this pirate’s den, you’ll enjoy tropical cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine and small bites. And Disney says to expect “sing-alongs, storytelling, and enchanting surprises.”
The time limit ensures turnover for this popular experience, while the entertainment elements (sing-alongs and storytelling) create that immersive atmosphere Disney World’s known for. The experience sounds like it will land somewhere between Oga’s and Trader Sam’s, with immersive theming and lively events that takeover the bar.
4. The Complete Food and Drink Treasure Map (aka the menu)
Hopefully, unlike Captain Jack Sparrow, you won’t be asking “Why is the rum always gone?” – because there’s plenty on the menu.
Signature Cocktails That’ll Shiver Your Timbers

Plunderer’s Punch looks to steal the show as the signature drink. It has Kraken Black Spiced Rum, blackberry, vanilla, and a hint of citrus and comes in a limited souvenir pirate skull mug (one per guest). This is destined to become the next must-have Disney collectible.

Other standout cocktails include:
- Salty Seas mARRRgarita: They’re going bold with ube (that purple yam) for color – either brilliant or potentially polarizing
- Siren’s Whisper: The blue cocktail inspired by the Fountain of Youth plot from the movies, complete with what they’re calling a “siren tear” garnish
- Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale: Rum and prosecco combo that sounds refreshing if executed well
- Barrels Ablaze: Jack Daniel’s-based for the bourbon crowd – a smart inclusion given Disney’s typical rum-heavy tropical focus

Zero-Proof Treasures

The Treasure Trove offers something unique – a drink paired with desserts. The non-alcoholic beverage combines ube, lemon, and coconut, which sounds very refreshing. Disney’s really leaning into the ube trend, which either shows they’re paying attention to food trends or someone in their kitchen is really committed to purple drinks. This beverage will be served with a variety of sweet treats.

The Cursed Treasure is Disney’s attempt at making cookies and cream into a beverage, and I can see this being very popular with younger pirates. It has a coconut milk base with cookie pieces and vanilla foam, all topped with a “pirates gold cookie.”
Food Fit for a Pirate’s Crew

Island Provisions serves as the shareable bread service with a Caribbean twist, featuring plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and toasted flatbread served with various savory dips. This dish seems like elevated bar snacks.

For the more adventurous eaters, there’s Kraken’s Catch featuring actual octopus tentacles. I can see this one being divisive, as these are pretty bold ingredients for the Magic Kingdom.

Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes sounds like the heartiest option: cheese-stuffed corn cakes with your choice of roasted vegetables or chicken. This looks arepas-adjacent, and probably the most filling item on the menu.
Exclusive Brews and Wines
The beer selection includes some exclusive brews created specifically for the venue – Victory Brewing’s Pirate’s Paradise Blonde Ale and Wicked Weed’s Berried Treasure Session Sour. Wine options span the globe with selections that lean into the “Seven Seas” theme.
You can check out the full menu and prices on Disney’s Official Beak and Barrel Menu.
5. Opening Date, Reservations, and Special Events
The Beak and Barrel officially opens August 29, 2025, and smart pirates will want to mark their calendars for August 14 when reservations become available. Given how popular new experiences are at Disney World, expect this to be harder to book than finding actual buried treasure.
Importantly, the bar is confirmed to operate during Magic Kingdom’s Halloween and Christmas parties, making it a year-round destination for themed celebrations. But to answer some questions I’ve also gotten, no, it is not only open during the parties. This will be open both during regular hours and during the parties.
Planning Your Pirate Adventure

Reservation Strategy
- Book early: With limited seating and 45-minute time slots, popular times will fill quickly
- Consider off-peak hours: Mid-afternoon might offer better availability than evening slots
- Check the app for availability: It’s unconfirmed right now, but Beak and Barrel may have a Walk Up Wait List, like Oga’s Cantina or Wailulu Bar and Grill.
What to Expect During Your Visit
- Interactive entertainment: Sing-alongs and storytelling create an immersive atmosphere
- Photo opportunities: The theming extends throughout the space with Instagram-worthy details and intricate drinks
- Merchandise: Disney confirmed that Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar (located next door) will sell exclusive Beak and Barrel t-shirts and a Parrot Shoulder Plush
Accessibility and Considerations
- All ages welcome
- Dietary restrictions: Multiple non-alcoholic options ensure everyone can participate. However, don’t expect to get a full meal here. The Corn Griddle Cakes look filling, but that’s about the only option. This is a lounge-level menu, with drinks, snacks, and sweets.
- Time management: Factor the 45-minute limit into your Magic Kingdom touring plan
How The Beak and Barrel Fits Into Disney’s Bar Evolution

The opening of The Beak and Barrel is the latest in a trend of Disney making immersive bars and lounges based on attractions, with GEO-82 at EPCOT and the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure. This continues their success with highly themed, immersive bars like Oga’s Cantina or Trader Sam’s.
The Pirates of the Caribbean theming just feels like a natural fit, and I can see this becoming one of the hardest to get reservations at Disney World. If this proves to be popular, I could see the concept making its way to other Disney parks around the world, and I could see Disney doing even more attraction-themed bars. Seems like they could fit a Haunted Mansion Parlor into the expansion coming to that side of the park.
Bottom line: If you’ve ever wanted to toast your Pirates of the Caribbean adventure with something more substantial than a Dole Whip, August 29 can’t come soon enough.
