Disney World has announced World Discovery’s new quick service restaurant. Epcot has been missing a counter service restaurant since it closed Electric Umbrella at Future World. Earlier this year, Disney opened Creations Shop, which replaced Mouse Gears, but we didn’t know what would fill the quick service restaurant-shaped hole in the middle of Epcot, until now.
At Destination D23, Disney Parks President Josh D’Amaro announced that the new restaurant will
be called Connections Cafe and Eatery. D’Amaro didn’t elaborate too many details, so the menu and opening date remains a mystery. But we did get to see a glimpse at some concept art for Connections Cafe. We also know that Connections will be located near Creations Shop, in the middle of World Celebration just past Spaceship Earth.
The look of Connections Cafe and Eatery seems to match the light and bright look of Creations Shop. This is a pretty stark contrast to the dark and somewhat moody in comparison look of Electric Umbrella, which is a welcome change in our book.

Stay tuned for more about Epcot’s new quick service restaurant as we learn more.
