Extended Evening Hours is coming back to Hollywood Studios in 2023! Offered weekly at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, this is one of the best perks for guests staying at Deluxe Resorts. Extended Evening Hours has only been offered sporadically at Hollywood Studios, being held last in December 2022. After a long wait, it’s finally making its glorious return to Disney World’s third theme park this fall.
Read on to find out the Extended Evening Hours dates, which guests are eligible, and what attractions will be available.
Plus, discover how this could affect your Disney World vacation — even if you aren’t eligible for EEH.

ToggleWhat is Extended Evening Hours?
Extended Evening Hours is a perk that allows Deluxe Resort guests (plus a handful of other resorts) stay in the park 2 hours after closing. This allows these guests to experience the park with much lower crowds and shorter wait times during these couple of nighttime hours.

Hollywood Studios will host Extended Evening Hours on the following evenings:
- September 30, 2023 (Saturday)

- October 25, 2023 (Wednesday)
EEH takes place 2 hours after scheduled park closing.

What attractions will be available at Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios?
Disney World has said that the following attractions will be available during Extended Evening Hours.
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Muppet*Vision 3D
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
- Toy Story Mania!
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Notably, Rise of the Resistance is not included on this list. That definitely decreases the value of EEH at Hollywood Studios in our opinion, especially considering that Rise was available for this back in December 2022. However, it’s possible that Disney just isn’t promising to have it open during these events, but they’ll have it running anyway. Just don’t count on it. (Tip: If you get in line for Rise of the Resistance just before official park closing, you’ll still be able to go on the ride. This goes for all guests.)
How will this affect crowds?
As I lay out in The Best and Worst Days to Visit Magic Kingdom and The Best and Worst Days to Visit EPCOT, Extended Evening Hours has a sizable affect on crowd levels for the entire day. Mondays at EPCOT and Wednesdays at Magic Kingdom tend to be more crowded than average due to this perk. We would definitely expect this to have a similar effect at Hollywood Studios during its EEH dates, and it may be even more pronounced due to the fact that Hollywood Studios doesn’t regularly host these late night hours.
However, that doesn’t mean you should automatically avoid Hollywood Studios on these days. DHS will be more crowded. But if you can take advantage of this perk, you absolutely should — especially if you can park hop to the Studios in the evening to enjoy the lower crowds at night.
If you aren’t eligible, we would recommend picking a different park to visit on these dates.
Should you go to Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios?
If you are eligible and visiting during one of the rare dates that the Studios actually hosts EEH: Yes! Of course! Outside of the paid After Hours events and the upcoming Jollywood Nights, it’s rare to stay in Hollywood Studios past 9-9:30 pm. The chance to experience some E-Ticket attractions with short waits, as well as wander through the neon-lit walkways of Hollywood Boulevard late into the evening is a rare Disney World treat.
Even if Rise of the Resistance isn’t available, this is still a must-do if you’re able to do it.
We want to hear from you!
