Alien Swirling Saucers

Alien Swirling Saucers is a spinning flat ride themed to the cute green Aliens from Pizza Planet in Toy Story. Guests board rocketship vehicles that are towed by an alien in a UFO. These rockets rotate on a turntable in a figure 8 formation, which is the exact same ride system as Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in Disney California Adventure. The momentum of the rotation sends your car slinging left and right, with the whipping sensation being much more pronounced than the “swirling” that’s in the title. If you have had issues with motion sickness on other spinning rides like Mad Tea Party, you might be ok on Alien Spinning Saucers.

Tips

• This ride is fun, features adorable theming, and a fun soundtrack. However, the ride itself is very short, and doesn’t stack up to the other offerings in Toy Story Land. If the line is short or if you can get a Fastpass, give Alien Swirling Saucers a whirl. It’s a blast. But don’t wait too long, and don’t prioritize it over any other ride Fastpass in Hollywood Studios. With a shorter wait, we’d rank this attraction about 3.5 stars due to the fun ride system, but the lengthy lines combined with a short experience hold this ride back.

• This ride features rider switch, which allows for one rider to wait with a child who is too small to ride while others in the party go on. Up to three guests can use the Fastpass line to go on after they’ve switched who is watching the small child.
