Disney updated the My Disney Experience app today to make it easier for guests to link together their Disney World accounts. When you link your Disney World account to a family member or friend, it makes it so their account shows up in your Family and Friends within the app. There are a few advantages to this, like being able to see each other’s plans and share PhotoPass photos. But a major advantage is that you can book Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane reservations together when your accounts are linked. This is a crucial step for being able to manage a traveling party at Disney World. Instead of trying to get overlapping Lightning Lane reservations, you can just have one person make a single reservation for the entire party if all the accounts are linked. We highly recommend linking the Disney World accounts for everyone in your party before you head to the parks.

Before this update, linking Disney World accounts involved entering the email of the person you want to add to your Family and Friends. They would receive the email and have to click a link to confirm. This new update gives you a QR code or manual code that someone can scan or enter within the app in order to link accounts. This has a few advantages, mainly that you don’t have to wait on an email to arrive in order to link accounts. It also removes some steps.
