Things are getting a bit more colorful at Walt Disney World with the return of a few beloved characters to the theme parks. While character meet and greets are still replaced with distanced character “sightings,” Disney World has been steadily expanding the lineup of characters that guests can see and get their pictures during their WDW vacation. As a reminder, character sightings let guests take their pictures with characters and interact with them in a distanced manner, but there are no autographs or hugs currently.
Today, I’ll give you a recap of the latest character returns, including one of my favorite all-time Disney World characters.
Kevin is back at Animal Kingdom
This is definitely the news item that got me the most excited. Kevin, the large colorful bird from Pixar’s Up!, has made her return to Animal Kingdom. Kevin is a massive, expressive puppet, and it’s one of the best characters that Disney has ever created for their theme parks. If you visit Animal Kingdom, keep an eye out for Kevin near the bridge to DinoLand, USA from Discovery Island. Because she is part of a character sighting, she will not be roaming around Discovery Island like she used to do.
Character Sightings at EPCOT
EPCOT has three characters making their return for sightings.
- Donald Duck has returned to the Mexico Pavilion for a character sighting.
- Joy from Inside Out is back at the Imagination Pavilion
- Vanellope von Schweetz from Wreck It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet is also at the Imagination Pavilion for a character sighting.
For the full lineup of character sightings and where to find each character at Walt Disney World, be sure to use the My Disney Experience app.
