As Downtown Disney has transformed into Disney Springs, there have been a plethora of great additions. New parking structures have made getting to Disney Springs’ offerings more convenient. New theming and walkways have made Disney Springs into a more enjoyable place to take an afternoon stroll. And new restaurants and bars have made Disney Springs a bonafide dining destination for anyone’s Disney World vacation. However, it turns out another addition is coming to Disney Springs. One that is sure to change the theme park game, and quite possibly all of our lives: an automated cupcake machine.
Ok, I may be exaggerating just a little bit, but the truth is that a Sprinkles Cupcake bakery is coming to Disney Springs this May, along with the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM. That’s right, an ATM that dispenses delicious cupcakes instead of currency. Having lived near a Sprinkles for the past few years, I can attest that their cupcakes are among the best that I’ve ever had. The Cupcake ATM is open 24 hours a day, and offers a limited selection of Sprinkles delectable offerings, including options for those eating gluten-free or sugar-free, and even mini-doggie cupcakes.
How does it work? Just select your cupcake from the touchscreen, and a robotic arm will retrieve your selection from the stock. There’s even a video feed so you can see the magic happen. The machine accepts credit or debit cards only. The Cupcake ATM is restocked throughout the day, including right before the bakery closes. Not only does the ATM help those out with a late-night cupcake craving, but I’ve found that the Cupcake ATM is a good way to go if the line in the bakery is long. Also, it’s just somewhat amusing to buy a cupcake from an ATM.
Disney World is already a great place to get a great cupcake. Sprinkles will definitely be a great addition to WDW’s dessert lineup. Are you excited to buy a cupcake from an ATM? Let me know in the comments below!
