If you’ve been to one of Disney World or Disneyland’s sprawling parking lots, you’ve probably run into the issue of forgetting where you parked. Was it Goofy 7B? Or Pluto 8C? In the excitement of arriving to the theme park, it’s very easy to forget where you parked — especially if you mix up your cartoon dogs. That’s why one of our oldest tips for visiting Disney World is to take a picture of the sign in the parking lot near where you parked. That way you can have an easy reminder of where you parked after hours of Disney fun.
Disney World and Disneyland are now adding a feature to their apps that will provide a high-tech way to remember where you parked. The Car Locator presented by State Farm is coming to WDW this summer and Disneyland later this year.

Where Disney World Car Locator is Available
The Car Locator will work at the following locations at Disney World:
- Disney World Theme Parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom
- Disney Water Parks
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
Disney has not shared specific locations for Disneyland, but it’s most likely coming to the theme park and Downtown Disney parking lots.
How the Disney World Car Locator Works
Disney says that the feature works best when you enable Bluetooth, Location Services, and Notifications on your iPhone or Android phone. If you haven’t enabled this, you can do so in the Settings on your phone.
After you park, follow these steps:
- Open the My Disney Experience app on your phone.
- Tap the Car Locator on the home screen or use the Feature menu (☰) on the bottom right hand side of the screen
- Enter your parking location. If you have location services enabled, the app will automatically suggest the correct parking details.
- Your information will be saved in the Car Locator in the app. Once you’re ready to leave the park, open the app and tap Car Locator on the home screen or in the Feature menu.
