Disney Visa Debit Card vs Disney Visa Credit Card Comparison

The biggest difference between the Disney Visa Debit Card and the Disney Visa Credit Card is a bit obvious. The debit card withdraws cash from your Chase bank account, while the credit card lets you make purchases and pay back for them later — with APR if you don’t fully pay your monthly bill. The Disney Debit Card requires a Chase bank account, while the Disney Visa Card requires you to be approved based on your credit rating and annual income.

The Disney Visa Credit Card has all of the same discounts and perks as the Disney Visa Debit Card, but there are a few extra perks.

Similarities:

• Both Disney Debit Card and Disney Credit Card offer the same theme park, Disney Cruise Line, and shopDisney discounts
• Both Disney Debit Card and Disney Credit Card offer the same special photo ops

Differences:

• The Disney Visa Credit Cards earn 1-2% Disney Rewards Dollars on every purchase. These rewards are like cash back that can only be used at Disney. The Disney Visa Debit Card does not earn Disney Rewards Dollars
• The Disney Visa Credit Cards offer 6 months of 0% APR financing on certain Disney vacation packages. The Disney Visa Debit Card does not offer Disney Vacation Financing
• The Disney Visa Debit Card has no annual fee. The Disney Visa Credit Card also has no annual fee, but the Disney Visa Premier Credit Card has a $49 annual fee.
• The Disney Visa Credit Cards offer statement credits for opening an account. The Disney Visa Debit Card does not.
• The Disney Visa Credit Cards and Debit Cards offer different designs

Our favorite Disney Debit Card Perks

The Disney Visa Debit Card has a ton of perks, but we think the best perks are the shopDisney discount, merchandise discounts inside the parks, and the special photo ops that are exclusive to Cardmembers. My family uses them all the time, both while on vacation and while we’re waiting on our next Disney vacation. It ends up saving us a ton of money. If you are most comfortable making purchases with a debit card, this is a great route to go. If you’d rather get a credit card, we’d recommend the Disney Visa Credit Card with no annual fee for most people.
