Disney World has a holiday gift for guests purchasing Genie+ over the next couple of weeks. From December 19, 2021 through January 3, 2022, four attractions that were previously only available through Individual Lightning Lane (aka a la carte purchase Lightning Lane) are going to be included with Genie+ at Walt Disney World.
There is one attraction in each park that will be temporarily included in Genie+
- Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom
- Frozen Ever After – Epcot
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Expedition Everest – Animal Kingdom
As a reminder, Genie+ is a $15/day ticket add-on that includes Lightning Lane access to over 45 attractions at Disney World. Individual Lightning Lane is a separate per-attraction purchase. Previously, the only way to get in the Lightning Lane for these four attractions was to pay $7+ per person for each attraction. If you want to learn more about how all of these systems work, check out our Guide 2 Disney Genie and our Disney Genie and Lightning Lane Explainer.
This move makes sense, as Genie+ availability crumbled under the crush of holiday crowds over Thanksgiving. Adding four extremely popular attractions will hopefully go a long with in making Genie+ a better experience for Disney World guests.
We will also be temporarily updating our Guide 2 Lightning Lane at Disney World to reflect these changes.
What do you think about this move? Will this make it more likely that you will purchase Genie+ for your Disney World trip? Let me know in the comments below!
