One question that guests have when it comes to Genie+ at Disney World and Disneyland is how it works with park hopping. If you visit more than one park in one day, do you have to buy Genie+ for each park you visit?

Does Disney Genie+ cost more if you visit multiple parks?

The answer, thankfully, is no. Disney Genie+ is a per-day ticket add-on at both Disneyland and Disney World. Meaning, if you purchase it, you have use for it all day, no matter how many parks you visit. So the cost for using Disney Genie+ in one park is the same for using it in every park in a single day. In fact, park hopping is supported in the Genie interface in the app, meaning you can start making Lightning Lane reservations at a different park for time slots after park hopping starts.

So at Disney World, for $15, you could conceivably use Genie+ at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom during the same calendar day. This would be hard to accomplish due to the new park hopping rules, which mean you need to visit the park you have a reservation for first and you can’t switch parks until 2 pm. After 2 pm, you can switch parks as much as you like.

At Disneyland, for $20, you can use Genie+ at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Park hopping at Disneyland Resort starts at 1 pm, so being able to use Genie+ at every single park in the resort in one day is much more feasible.

Remember, Genie+ costs a flat rate, no matter when you purchase it or get into the park. That’s why we recommend for people who want to buy Genie+ to do it before going into the park. The later in the day you purchase Genie+, the worse value it becomes.
