With Halloween just around the corner, I wanted to share a video I took at Disney World last October. During my visit, the barbershop quartet Dapper Dans transformed into the spookily scarifying Cadaver Dans. Who knew that zombies had such lovely singing voices? The Cadaver Dans performed as part of the Happy Haunted Horseshoe, a Limited Time Magic show at the Golden Horseshoe. The entire show was a fun Halloween treat, but the highlight for me was their performance of “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” Haunted Mansion’s iconic concluding song. What I love about their performance is that it really lets the brilliant lyrics of the song shine. With so much going on during the graveyard scene, it’s easy to miss lines like “When you hear the knell of a requiem bell/Weird glows gleam where spirits dwell” while on the Haunted Mansion. You can check it out in the video above.
If you want to catch the Cadaver Dans, look out for them at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. They usually lurk around Frontierland.
