Disney World continues to alter and upgrade its Genie+ service at Disney World. Since the paid service debuted in late 2021, one of the biggest differences between the Disney World and Disneyland versions of Genie+ was Disneyland’s inclusion of PhotoPass downloads. Genie+ at WDW currently does not include PhotoPass. Today, Disney announced a change that will bring Disney World’s version of Genie+ closer to Disneyland’s.
PhotoPass Attraction Photos will start to be included with Genie+ starting in March. These are the on-ride pictures included in rides like Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Test Track, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
This does not include pictures taken by PhotoPass photographers, like at Character Meet & Greets or landmarks such as Cinderella Castle.
Update 2-23-2023: Disney has announced the start date of this new perk. Attraction photos will be included with a Disney+ purchase at Walt Disney World starting March 20.
Here’s Disney’s official announcement.
Attraction photo downloads will be included with Disney Genie+ service
Beginning in the next few months, guests purchasing Disney Genie+ service will also receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass attraction photos, taken in the park on the day of their purchase, at no additional charge. Attraction photos are taken while in the parks at more than a dozen of our most popular attractions including Space Mountain, Slinky Doq Dash, Test Track, Expedition Everest and more. I always love looking back at family photos at our favorite attractions – it’s a perfect way to remember and celebrate your theme park visit together. An exact launch date will be announced at a later time. Disney PhotoPass terms and conditions and expiration policy apply.
