Disney World will be changing yet another Lightning Lane offering later this month. EPCOT’s new trackless dark ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is shifting from Individual Lightning Lane to Genie+ Lightning Lane starting May 31. This means that you will not have to purchase an a la carte Lightning Lane to skip one of the lengthiest lines at Disney World. Instead, Remy will be included as part of the flat rate $15/day Genie+ Lightning Lane offerings.

5 Individual Lightning Lane Attractions Are Now Included with Genie+

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure joins Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Expedition Everest as Individual Lightning Lane attractions that have been converted to Genie+. All of these attractions are currently scheduled to be included with Genie+ until August 7, 2022.

What will happen after August 7? I honestly don’t think anyone knows. My personal bet would be that most of these rides stay Genie+ offerings, if not all of them. Disney World has recently tried to lower expectations with how many rides you can get with Genie+, and having more rides included with Genie+ will help with that issue. However, Disney did convert four of these attractions to Genie+ over the holidays last year and changed them back to Individual Lightning Lane, even if it was only for a few weeks.

The big lesson here is that the Lightning Lane Lineup is always subject to change.

What is Individual Lightning Lane anyway?

To sum it up very quickly, Lightning Lane is the way to skip the regular line at Disney World. You can access it one of two ways: either by buying Genie+ for $15/day, or by purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane pass on a per ride basis. Genie+ includes a lineup of 8-18 attractions per park, and you can get Lightning Lane reservations one at a time, subject to availability. Individual Lightning Lane attractions are the most popular or newest ride in the park, such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Rise of the Resistance, Flight of Passage, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. There are no overlap between Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane attractions.
